Dumpling Headcanon

Since I need at least one explanation for everything in the SM universe here’s my headcanon:

Queen Serenity, Princess Serenity and Sailor Moon are shown with multiple hair colors because whoever is in posession of the Silver Crystal is affected by the phases of the moon, sometimes resulting in the change of haircolor. Princess Serenity’s hair was generally silver when the moon was waning, blonde when the moon was waxing and pink when there were certain occurrences such as an eclipse or a harvest moon. The reason why we never see Sailor Moon/Usagi in the anime with different colored hair is because as Sailor Moon, Usagi isn’t exposed to the full power of the Silver Crystal most of time or an eclipse (even if she was, these changes aren’t always definite). When Usagi becomes Neo-Queen Serenity, the Silver Crystal is always working at it’s near full potential so these ”side effects” may begin to happen to her (same goes for when she was Serenity). This also means that Chibi-Usa may have blond or silver hair once in a while when the Silver Crystal is given to her. 

I also have a theory about the orgin of the Silver Crystal and how it relates to the Moon Kindom & such, but that’s another post for another time.

Throughout the generations of the Moon Family, the power of the Silver Crystal waxes and wanes like the moon - the reason Usagi is so powerful (and can use the full power of the crystal without dying) is because she is the incarnation of the full moon. Her mother and daughter are slightly weaker, because they are the incarnations of the waxing gibbous and waning gibbous phases. 

Dancing in the Moonlight

Princess Serenity hated stuffy official balls and having to act proper in front of the royals. So when it would get really late, after every single guest left, she would go to Earth. There she would meet Princesses Mars, Venus, Jupiter and Mercury, along with her Prince, and his guardians. As nighttime drifted to early morning, they would dance and socialize in the far gardens of the Earth Kingdom. Once the sun would peak dimly over the horizon, everyone gave hugs and kisses good bye until the next fun-filled night.

The only reason Mamoru miraculously survived the car accident when his parents did not was because he was reborn in order to find love and happiness with Serenity.  Since he had not met Usagi yet, he still had to live because his destiny had not been fulfilled, which in turn doomed him to live without his family.
