The Red Bows

Whenever a child of the moon becomes a senshi they will have a red bow.  This is to symbolize a long forgotten promise with the senshi of Mars- You see the Mars senshi was one of the first to protect the moon princess, and if that princess chose to fight would lend her power as needed.  The stronger the princess got the less she would rely on mars and the bow would change colors.

In the future Rei can heat up any part of her body without that part bursting into flames. She uses this skill to make microwave popcorn for Usagi/Serenity. Because it makes her queen happy. :3

Mistress Mars

I don’t usually makes assumptions about how people are in the bedroom based on how they act outside it, be they real or fictional, but because of Mars in the Mixx manga translation proclaiming “I’ll punish you in high heels!” after her first (or was it second? I don’t have it with me right now) transformation, I’ve always thought that she just HAS to be a dominatrix.

Rei never really mends her relationship with her father, but she still sends him a card on his birthday. She presents the card as from an admiring fan of the politician, but she always hopes deep, deep in her heart that he’ll know that it’s from her and call her in response.

He never does.

Rei hates high-heeled shoes.

She hates heels so much! Everytime she wears high-heeled shoes she staggers and is really unstable. She tries and tries, but she always ends up walking as a goose. 

When she makes up however, as every other Senshi she can move easily in her shoes, and ad Sailor mars she can make as many acrobatic exercises as she wants. Then, when she comes back to Rei, heels come back to be her worst enemy. 

That’s why whenever she and the Inners go to a masquerade or a party… She just makes up! So the shoes don’t get her trouble, and the costume is great and perfectly plausible.

Sports in the Silver Millenium

Remember how ice-skating was supposed to be super popular on the Moon and how Princess Serenity was like Michelle Kwan, only more badass because she skated in a floor-length gown? The counterpart in sports would be hockey (yes, in my headcanon, hockey is that old.)

The reason it’s never mentioned in the series is because the Inner Senshi were never really interested, although Jupiter was not against a game or two, powered down of course, and Mars was challenged once, and so she played, not powered down. The result was not pretty. As for the Outers - they were supposed to be guarding the solar system from outside forces, but Uranus would still sneak off to the Moon to play. Powered down or not, however, she was practically a team all by herself, and the complaints (and injuries) mounted to the point that Queen Serenity had to step in. She decided that she wouldn’t ban Uranus from playing - but only if Uranus agreed to double guard duty. This made Uranus kind of sulky, but she agreed, and the extra guard duty kept her busy enough that for most of the year, hockey players on the Moon could rest easy.
