|Headcanon refers to something that isn't canon, but you've come to believe it just as if it were anyway. Think of them as mere opinions; ideas; bite-sized fanfictions. Whatever they are, they're interesting and entertaining. This is a Tumblog dedicated to Sailor Moon headcanon.|

Lots of fans dislike the R-Season Break-Up, where Mamoru dumped Usagi without explanation because of nightmares he had that led him to believe that if they were together, terrible things would happen. It’s revealed that Mamoru’s future self, King Endymion, was sending him these nightmares. He offered the explanation that “they needed to know that their love was strong, that they could overcome any hardships”, but it was left very ambiguous. What did he mean? To many fans this seemed like not much of an answer at all.
But King Endymion knows exactly what will happen to his past self, not long at all after their conversation. He sent the nightmares to make Usagi stronger; to give her a small, but not overwhelming, understanding of what it would be like to have to live without Mamoru, to have to grow stronger and fight on her own, and trust through his apparent coldness and absence to still believe that he loved her,
so that she would be OK when he was killed by Galaxia.

All people from the planet Mau have a cat form and a human form. We just never saw Tin Nyanko assume her cat form because she didn’t have any use for it at the time.

My Headcanon for Sailor Aluminum Siren is that— even though being an Aquatic being, she has almost drowned while swimming once. Being so lost in thought, ditsy as ever, she didn’t realize that she had began to sink into the water until she actually began choking. So here we have the Mermaid Senshi nearly drowning in a body of water because of her dream land.
I think that Sailor Galaxia secretly is an animal-lover, hence the naming conventions for the Animamates.
Since I also think that Sailor Vesta’s “element” as a senshi is the ability to control/communicate with animals (based on her role in the Dead Moon Circus as an animal trainer) I figure that Galaxia would have had a ball if she’d been able to get her hands on Vesta’s starseed.
((Mod note: One could argue that their naming convention comes from the planets/Soldiers their Star Seeds were taken from, but only for the manga. In the Anime, she’s PETA, baby.))

I imagine that if Heavy Metal Papillon had appeared in the anime, they would have taken the note from the Materials Collection that says she is a mom and run with it. I like to imagine her as a doting mama who thinks little Chouko is just the cuuuuttesst thing in the world. She would also speak gratuitous French and constantly call her little Chouko-tan mon cherie. I also imagine this happening.
Chouko: I am Sailor Chibi Heavy Metal Papillon!
Papillon: Non, non, mon cherie, you are Sailor Heavy Metal Chenille!
For those of you who don’t know, papillon is butterfly in French and chenille means caterpillar.
No, no, what are you talking about, I didn’t have to look that up on an online translator… Of course I can speak French… *cough*

I like to think that Lethe, Mnemosyne, Phi, Chi, and Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon were in the anime, but they were all hanging out at Galaxia’s pad waiting to be called up for battle and so never saw any action. They never ended up fighting because Galaxia wanted them to stay where they were. The reason for this is that she was secretly filming the six of them (since Papillon’s daughter Chouko was also there) and airing the footage on Ginga TV as the popular reality TV show Sailor War, which was financing all of Galaxia’s operations. Hey, she had to pay for that building and food for Siren somehow and they did have that TV tower… It’d be a shame not to use it…
